Cleaning & maintenance
What the machine does for itself, what is left to you, and where the intervals for your own model are written down.
The automatic cleaning cycle
Every Leveluk ionizer in this catalogue cleans its own electrode chamber automatically — cleaning is listed as automatic on the K8, the Super 501 and the Jr. IV, and on the Super 501 it is microcomputer controlled.
On the K8 the cycle runs after use and discharges water while it works. That water is not to be used, for drinking or for anything else, and the machine should be left to finish before it is used again. This is stated in the K8 operation manual.
A unit that starts discharging water on its own is, far more often than not, doing exactly this rather than failing.
What is left to you
Outside the automatic cycle, care is ordinary: wipe the housing with a soft dry cloth, keep the flexible pipe clear of the basin, and keep the surface under the unit dry.
Anything with an interval attached — descaling, the enhancer tank, deeper servicing — is specified per model in that unit's own manual, and it shifts with how hard your tap water is. This site does not publish an interval it cannot verify for your machine. Take it from your manual, or ask an authorized representative.
The Anespa DX
The Anespa DX is a shower system rather than an ionizer, with its own replaceable filter and mineral cartridge. Its service and maintenance guidance is set out on its product page and in the documentation supplied with the unit.
Before you use anything on it
No solvents, no abrasives, and nothing put through the machine other than water from the supply it was installed on. If a cleaning agent is not named in your manual, do not use it.
