Filters

When the machine asks for a new filter, what is verified for the K8's F8, and where genuine replacements come from.

The machine tells you

The K8, the Super 501 and the Jr. IV all carry smart filter technology with change reminders: the unit tells you when the filter is due. You do not need to keep a calendar for it.

The K8's F8 filter

The K8 uses the F8 filter, and its interval is one of the few figures this site can state with confidence: replace it when the display asks — roughly every 6,000 litres, or once a year, whichever comes first. This comes from the K8 operation manual.

Other models

Enagic specifies the cartridge and the interval per model, and nothing comparable to the F8 figure is verified here for the Super 501, the Jr. IV or the Anespa DX. Read the interval off your unit's own manual — or simply replace when the machine prompts you, which is what the reminder exists for.

The Anespa DX has a replaceable filter and a mineral cartridge, which are two separate items.

Use genuine parts

Replacement filters come from Enagic through an authorized representative. Genuine Enagic filters keep water quality consistent, and they are what your unit's own documentation specifies. If you are unsure which cartridge your machine takes, quote the model name and the serial number on the unit when you get in touch.
